Above The Sun is a creative arts organization with the goal to bring heaven to earth through creativity.
In 1995, we pondered on the verse in Ecclesiastes where the prophet laments nothing is new under the sun and everything is meaningless. As creative people, we asked God, if we are unable to create anything new, then why even be artists? His response came from Colossians.
“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
God promised us if we look to Him as our sole inspiring force, we can in fact bring new from above the sun where He is back down to earth. This site was formed to do just that. We desire to create heaven inspired games, books, media, and other artistic pieces with the direct purpose to glorify God and bring heaven to earth.
Above The Sun is comprised of authors, game designers, and other creative artists all brought together with one common thread, we always look to God for inspiration. We do believe everything under the sun is in fact meaningless with out God, however we hold onto the truth that “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17a NIV) and work hard to influence this world through our creativity
What we are not:
While Above the Sun wants to create heaven inspired games, books, and pieces of art with wholesome family values we don’t want to create a Christian subculture of material alienating the rest of the world. We want to relate to the rest of the world and create engaging material that could be enjoyed by all walks of life.
Our work won’t always be happy, because we know life isn’t always easy.
Our work won’t be fake, because as Christians we want to be honest, even in the midst of hard times.
With that said, our mission is to create wholesome material inspired by God who is always good, is always joyful, and has all the resources we will ever need. Because of that, we are able to make a pledge to our customers, and that pledge comes from Philippians.
